Jim Knoeppel has been tattooing professionally for over 15 years; 10 years at Octopus Ink Tattoo in Lake Oswego, Oregon and the last 2 years in Maui. He learned the art of tattooing under the tutelage of veteran tattoo artist Rio Degenarro and completed a specialized 40 hour continuing education course for from Carole School of Cosmetic Tattooing. He was initially licensed by the State of Oregon; the Oregon licensing guidelines for tattoo artist are among the strictest in the United States.
As a graduate from the New York School of Visual Arts with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Jim has had numerous juried shows as well as solo Gallery appearances in New York City. His work has previously been selected for Art Maui, and the Hui no’eau in Up-Country Maui, where his work was purchased by the State Foundation on Culture and Arts. Jim was selected as the featured artist for the September 2020 Lahaina Arts Society show.
Jim has built a loyal following and reputation for customer service, quality color work, and specializes in black and grey realistic art and portraiture.
